This collection of my paintings represents my search for and discovery of the beauty, which we cannot see with our naked eye. The beauty seen through the Hubble Telescope or the microscope is realy amazing. I searched books and mostly the Internet for a myriad of telescopic and microscopic images of things around us. These are some of the results of my searches. My bakcground was always interwoven with art, whether it be drawing, painting, or designing. I arrived in the US from Czechoslovakia at the age of 17. Three days after getting off the boat I had a job to help support the family; no more school. After learning to speak English, I was offered a job drafting technical drawings ad electrical designs. Fashion drawing and designing and commercial photography followed. Then came law school ad law practice, and finally, more than twenty years ago, I was able to devote my full time to painting.
I am overwhelmed by the beauty that cannot be seen with our naked eye, only through a microscope or a Hubble Telescope. I marvel at the real beauty all around us; how the limbs connect to the trees, the myraid shapes and colors of flowers, the mountains, the rock formations, rivers, oceans....I respond to the thoughts these sights give me, the visual pleasure, and the thoughts of soaring and freedom.
